 Post subject: lower control arms

anyone replaced their lower control arms? i seem to have bent the left one slightly <grin> after jeepstock last week. the rocks didn't have enough peanut butter goo to smooth my grinding :)

huh? it's still drivable. why would i want to sell it? :) you dont want it, too many dents and dings.

ill find a lca somewhere and replace it if it gets bad, but right now it drives fine.

You missed another conversation of his...he was asking b/c if you were going to replace it, he would need it for testing purposes.

I have replaced the uppers on mine and a few others. I think I have an old one still around.

We have also replaced the lowers on a KJ out here but there were bent very bad. Sorry Wally for bring it up. Hey It was still a fun day right?

The lowers are a very heavy duty piece and they are seeing a lot of force...Just besure you have this tested before you install a new test piece on a KJ. I work with all kinds of test labs if you need help with this.

Again...the lower control arm see some very high loads...

The parts are kind of heavy are you up for the shipping. I thought the uppers were already done by someone. Jeepin Al? Am I all mixed up? later...Clint

Yea I think Al did the uppers. I was just thinking about finding some lowers somewhere and swapping them out.

i replaced both lower front arms when doing accident repair, both were bent and cracked badly, even they are cast steel they seem to bend.

lsightly longer lowers for the rear would be nice to recenter the wheel/tire in the fenderwell
