Post subject:  Fender / Bumper trimming -- Complete!
Had to trim out my fenders / bumpers to make room for my 32" Timerbline's that are getting put on tomorrow. figured I'd give my thoughts / show my pics here (pics were taken with cell phone so they're not super huge)

Thoughts:
I couldn't be happier.. it looks GREAT.

Total install time took about 3 hours because we were being extremely cautious. We didn't remove the bumper, we made the cuts with everything still attached. (Hence why we went SLOWLY hehe). Honestly, this could be done start to finish in about an hour.

At the moment I have no windshield washer tank :P going to get one of those radiator kits and make a new one.

Let me know what you guys think, and feel free to ask me any questions. :)

And now the pics:


This is the first cut of the night.... we used 2" masking tape as a guide for a straight cut. There is a peice of metal just over 2" below the turn signals that spans the width of the car. It's a GREAT guide.

We cut the hole in the fender liner with just a sharp knife. Notice the windshield washer tank.

Close up of the first cut. This is the hardest spot (first cut passenger side) because you only have an inch between the bumper shell and the windshield fluid tank. We were very carefull not to cut too deep here.

Apparently, the only metal rivet on the whole car attaches the front bumper to the fender liner... and was a SUPER pain in the booty to detach.. . we ended up just cutting off the part with the rivet.

First side complete!!! but that pesky windshield washer tank is still visible and in a bad spot.... hmm... what to do...

Flawless Victory!!! After removing some screws and a sensor, the "Looks too much like a spine with other various internal organs attached" washer fluid tank is removed!

... and then our luck ran out.. on the VERY last cut just doing some pretty-up work with a knife, my friend sliced up his hand something fierce.... blood sprayed everywhere and got onto my rotors :P

Looks good,very interesting front gaurd/tow hook setup.I take it is mounted to the factory tow hook location? Looks pretty good(all though the white is kind of out of place,black would look better,my 2 cents).Hope your friend didn't get cut to bad,that sucks I know.

I definitely won't be doing this mod since I have the factory fog lights, however, nice job! I hope your friend recovers quickly from his injuries. Send all of L.O.S.T.'s regards to him!

it looks a lot better when you see the rest of it.. though I've taken those side graphics off since then, they were getting old and wore out.

this is the best mod I've ever done to any car, and I highly recommend it.

great job, nice cut line.
I like the 2" better than my 1.5"
to add a tuch you can get some door trim and put around it
NOT that you need any your cut is real straight,go job

I've been wondering about that. Can the lights be removed and remounted elsewhere using the original wiring? Perhaps mounting them on top of the bumper similar to the '05+ Renegades?

yes... if you're cutting them off like this, you could easily cut them out and relocate them... though you'd have to figure out a way to make a cover for the back if you want it to look nice.

If you mean the windshield washer bottle, then yep... went with the coolant recovery jug method. bought a jug ($7) drilled a 3/4" hole in it, put in the grommet from the factory jug, extended the wiring to the pump so I could relocate it, and used a self tapping screw to screw in the metal holder bracket... I'll try to take some pics tonight and post 'em up.

I absolutely love the way that thing looks! No rubbing at all with 32" tires? I thought 31" was the limit. I assume that your lifted, pinch weld already pounded etc.
