i was on my way to go camping in the mountains when my check engine light came on. Also the jeep was stuck in gear and wouldn't down shift. even when i came to a stop and pulled out it started in 3rd or 4th. when i turn the jeep off and start it again the problem goes away until drive up a steep long mountain road. does anybody have an idea whats wrong. if i dont drive any mountain roads the check engine light will stay off, but i want to get it fixed before i reach 70,000

If it's under warranty just take it to the dealer.

Need to pull the code to start with, that'll get you in the right direction. If it's still under warranty take it to the dealer and let them fix it.
