Is this going to cause me problems

I may be paranoid because I've already had to replace the front Frankenlift once after only two weeks of it being installed. The poly spacer in the strut broke into two pieces and the piece that the spring was supposed to resting on was instead wrapped around the clevis and the spring was sitting on the metal shelf on the strut. Anyway, I have been checking it to see if there are any signs of it happening again nd today I found this. This would be exactly where the other one split. Is this a problem, or am I just paranoid? The area circled in red is what I am worried about. I believe that the spring is supposed to be resting on top of that piece, not pushing it out. Anyone with this same spacer seeing this?

Send that to Quinn... I think you have it upside down? That tab is supposed to protect the ball joint... if I remember correctly.

I have sent an email to All J's with the attached picture to see what they respond. There is a piece on the other side to protect the ball joint. There is a groove in the bottom of the spacer to fit a hump in the plate on the strut to index the spacer. It can really only go on one way. I suspect that the spring should actually be resting on top of what looks like a tab instead of pushing it out like that.

Not a Frankenlifter so my chiming in has limited value... but... I'd say unless you have some other issues, you're fine. Seems to be plenty of material below the spring to have any concerns. I'm curious as to what All J's says though. Keep us posted

All J's seems to think that this is not the way this should look. I am still working with them on a resolution. I hope to hear from them today and get this resolved. I am trying to baby this thing until it is resolved and I feel confident hitting a big bump isn't going to rip things apart, but am anxious to hit some trails. I will post what the resolution turns out to be.

I wouldnt worry about hitting a hole in the road. Worse comes to worse, the spacer will split some like the one before did.. But I do not believe it would cause any adverse effects on the Jeep..

Offroading may be alittle much for it though.. Wouldnt hurt anything, but if the spacer splits and falls out you will be alittle lop sided.. :lol:

Thanks. I am still trying to figure out what caused this. All J's seems to think it is something on my vehicle hitting the spacer and tearing it. The spacer does rest against the body at fool droop, but the pictures I have seeen of other Frankenlifts look the same. I felt all around where it rests and didn't find any sharp edges.

There shouldnt be anything behind that to cut into it. Mine is totally smooth...

Sounds like they are working with you which is good.. They seem to have good service..

Well, the second strut just spit out the poly spacer on my way back to the office from lunch. All J's is working with me to try to figure out what is going on with this. I am quickly loosing faith in the KJ though. It has been two months since I have been able to hit any trails. I hope this gets worked out soon. I am really wanting to head to the mountains of CO and the canyons of UT in the next couple of months.
