Ok guys, time has came for new tires and if I was going to throw on a lift now would be the time to do it! I'm looking for the Jeep to sit a little Cali style (front highter) or dead even, no rake at all. I have a few questions -2.5" Rusty spacer lift (my jeep has already been in for suspension work so I figure they replaced the struts). 
-Clevis lift, is this the same as a strut plate? 
-(5) ProComp 8179s 16x8 
-(5) 275/45/16 BFG Muds (actual tires  )

If those tires are from a new JK wrangler, they are 17's. Just to let you know - and they measure 32". |

The wheels are sweet, the clevis and strut plate are totally different things. Search for "clevis lift" and you will find what you need to know about that. Ditto what Don said about the tires. Won't work w/ your setup and I think you typod on the size. Not keen on the spacer only lift, save for the spring lift and be way happier. |

I didn't even think the JKs had bigger tires  . Is the strut plate for the front as well?

Yes the strut plate is for the front although if you are going to go with that lift then you dont want to add that on top. The strut plate is more for just giving you a little extra from stock. Or if you have the full spring kit then some run it for an extra little bit of lift. You should really stay away from the OTT / spacer style of lift if at all possible. Oh yes the new JKs have a larger bolt pattern 5x5.5 Tom |

Hey now...easy there....You might not think i'm "Keen",but in all honesty,I still could'nt be "Happier" with my Rusty's OTT.....And just look at all the money I saved. About 30,000 highway miles and 4 to 5 trips in the creek and mild trails,and I still don't see all the blown struts and the damage everyone's talking about....call me lucky.

Dammit, I was going to get such a deal on those 32" tires. Only $300 for all five with 3,000 miles  .

OK stand corrected some have good results with it then Tom Again,in all honesty,if I where to do any hard core wheelin' I might consider a "Half Track"or maybe a "Sherman Tank"....But for most people just wanting to explore,200.00 is not alot of money to throw away.And if anyone who thinks you can't blow the struts on a spring lift is willing......just loan me your jeep for a day.
All jokes aside......I know that you "only get what you pay for",but as long as people understand that the OTT lift is for mild trail riding,and making people stare when you drive by,then it does'nt cost alot to do it.

Donnie.....As just mentioned,I have the OTT lift.......and yes you can jack that strut up as far as you want to......but for one,it's not safe,two,it will only be harder on CV angles,and three,with the OTT I have you won't need a clevis lift cause my jeep is sitting about as level as others using springs and conduit nuts.IMO both methods are accomplishing the same thing.....a level ride.I am running a 265/75/16,at almost 32" diameter,but some unseen plastic trimming is a must.
