With one hand on the hood my rene up front boings.... like a kangaroo.

if warranty covers the front shocks i am going back with stock.
if not... then EMU?

Our rene is a wash runner no rock climbing for us.
rene is all stock no lift either yet

lost a 235/70/16 sr-a to a fatal side wall puncuture while out at the cargo muchachos
put a Uniroyal liberator A/t on back as a new spare.

OUr rene is truly a dual purpose viehicle.

we go wash running on the weekends in the chocolate Mtns & deserts
the wife uses it as a daily driver during the week
the rene also gets used a the long distance 2100 mile vacation viehicle twice so far this year.

quite a capable Jeep.
all the best

They should be covered so until they are not I would keep going back to stock. When/if you decide to lift, or when you run out of warranty or the dealer balks at it, then it would be a good idea to upgrade to OME struts and shocks.

You should run up to Big Bear next weekend and come on out on a scenic/easy trail w/ us! We welcome Stockers too!!

If I did'nt already know that your jeep was stock,I'd a thought it was that stupid OTT lift that blew your front strut.

The Chocolate Mountains and surrounding area are brutal on tires and particularly on "P" rated tires. They just don't have strong enough sidewalls to resist puncture. My crew and I worked in that area for years. It was not unusual for my guys to take along 3 spares and end up using all of them during a shift. On several occassions I spent an entire shift running more tires to the guys in the field.

"LT" rated tires, while still not impervious to sidewall punctures, will last MUCH longer that the "P" rated tires that Jeep chooses to use on our KJ's.

Of course, nothing will help if you encounter live ordinance out there so, be careful and stay safe.

There is also some good scenery and fun wheeling just north of the Chocolates along the Bradshaw Trail and in the Chuckawalla Mountains. You can get there without going through the Bombing Range by going up Hwy. 78 to Midway Well Road or coming in off of Hwy. 111 near Thermal. But you probably already knew that.
