Finally got to test out the OME N132L long travel shocks tonight. We had the street tires/rims on (BFG 245/75/R16 AT's on stock rims). The new shocks droop great and stuff good - however the shock is acting as the limiting factor in stuffing the tire - it becomes the 'bumpstop'. I'm sure that can't be good for the shocks. Any ideas for bumpstops? Also when stuffing the passenger side rear tire the muffler hits the pinion u-joint

Also getting rid of the Rubi MTR's on MOABs for the trail tires. Going with 235/85/R16 Maxxis Bighorn MT's on 16x7 rims with 4.5" backspacing. Probably no rubbing :D

yea, its always been recommended that you get extended bumpstops with those shocks. It will destroy them over time.

Does anyone make extended bumpstops or do I need to make a home-made fix?

Just drill a hole in some hockey pucks and then drill a hole in the middle of the lower spring mounts directly under the bumpstops. Add some washers bolts and nuts and you have a homemade bumpstop. The whole thing can be done in about an hour.

Daystar makes some nice poly ones that fit nicely into the rear spring pad and they have the bolt moded into them. All J carries them and I think they sell them seperately from the Frankenlift.

hell, i just used heavy duty double-sided foam tape to stick my hockey pucks on the lower spring pads... plenty of hard wheeling and they are still there...

What about the EVS bumpstops from Daystar, which fit right onto the shock itself? Seems like a good idea.

That is very impressive. Much better than stock. The following is my rig, 2.5" Daystar puck lift, otherwise stock:

I checked into those and they wont work with the OME Shocks (they have a full length metal sleeve over shock rod)

Also - they still make the shock the limiting factor in bottoming out the suspension. Way too much stress for stamp steel shock mounts!

Hockey pucks may be the way to go

Thanks for the input - the next thing is to find the right backspacing for the rims on 16x7" wheel
