Modding a Champion 9500 to go in a ARB....

I am in the process of this right now.

Gonna get rid of the steel wire and go with amsteel blue too

Pulled off the control box and added threaded rod for strength
(control box holds the units gears and motor on the spool.
Once you pull it off it wants to fall apart. Once the rods are on it is solid,
and will be even better once it is mounted.

CU of threaded rod

Extending the lines from the Control Box (had to open it up
and don't have pics) But it is really simple. You need to make up cables
with battery or welding cable though) The contol box will sit on top of the bumper,
not right on the winch. This is wht they need to be extended.

Mount I fabbed to put control box on top of bumper

Very nice! U get that from Costco? they have them up here in Canada for $359.99. Just saw one tonight when I was there. I was thinking about one as well. I like the idea o taking the control box off like you did.

Gotcha. Let me know how it all fits and how well it works for recovery. I picked up the lil' 2000 lbs. from Costco and mounted it on a hitch reciever. Just use it for little things around the house/cabin/whatever. Even doubled up, does not work worth a sh*t for recovery ahahah. I've tried.
