Post subject: | BDS 2" suspension system |
http://www.bds-suspension.com/suspensionsystems_11jeep.html Anyone has this lift kit (or a similar one) in his KJ? I wondered how these 2" spring with strut relocation brackets kits would work. More if you have to live with different shocks in the front and rear and you have the stock ones at the front. Thanks |

![]() Thanks for the link, Skyjump. If I've watched correctly the video the issue is with too much travel from the REAR shocks compared to rear springs, right? It is shocking that they don't make a safer product for ALL the possible situations. Anyway, I think that you can solve the problem putting a different pair of rear shocks ( with a shorter travel ). My main concern is with the front suspension and how the new spring-stock shock combo performs with that strut extension plate. Cheers |

Why wouldn't you want your rear axle to flex to its full potential? The problem is the spring, not the shock. Go with Rusty's spring lift or the Frankenlift. |

My lift is similar to the BDS lift kit. No problem with springs popping out! ![]() |

That fact this person has called themselves cherokj suggests they are European or Australian. Shipping a Rusty's or Frankenlift will probably be very expensive! Ian |

Yes Ian. You are right. In fact I'm interested in the BDS because is very similar to the Trailmaster kit ( by Maas ) we have in Europe. Same lift, same system, and I hope not the same performance! ![]() priell3, I'm a bit happier after looking at that photo. How it performs on highway at high speed? |

My KJ rides better with the lift than it ever did stock. Joe Jeeper also has the 4WD Hardware lift on his KJ. Here we are parked side by side at last weekend's Jeff Daniel's Jeep Show: ![]() |

Fouros, Mine is exactly the same as yours: black, graphite bumper, same wheels.. I know OME is among the best. We know well here, OME shocks and springs are well tested in North African expeditions. They do their job fine. The problem is they don't make a specific kit for diesel KJs, and besides that it seems that you can't get a leveled KJ with the OME lift: Sum up these two things and you will get a CRD with almost no lift at front using the present OME kits available for the KJ. I don't know if I can wait till they make a true diesel kit. And they should...At least here CRDs are 90% of sales. By the way..Your photo is just after installed the springs, am I wrong? I'd really like to see the same shot of the car once the suspension has settled . Cheers |

You can get the long range fuel tanks through ARB. Don't need in the UK though, you can drive into the sea on a regular tank of fuel from any point of the island ![]() Ian |
