I just installed Yukon gears and a Detroit TT. I rebuilt the rear because I got water in the rear and it started howling real bad. Now that the noise is gone I now hear a barely audible, almost electronic in sound (like that high pitch whine that comes from a tv but not quite as noticable), whine that is coming from either the transmission or the transfer case. Is there something I should be looking for? Thanks, Bill |

If you got water in the rear end...did you replace the bearings? That sounds more like tje problem than the tranny or TC |

Yep. Everything was replaced... The area the noise is coming from seems to be where the transfer case/transmission shifters are.. |

Could be normal new gear break-in noise. Should go away quick though. Backlash might not be set right also. |

Well since your rear end took in water what about the t-case? Low on fluid? Time to change fliud in the t-case? Just some more things to check. |

I checked all of that after I found out I drowned the rear dif. I will check it again though for good measure, thanks for the idea... |
