Just called a few places to find out who can install Detroit TT in the rear end and nobody wants to do it except the dealer who wanted $360. |

I don't understand why supposed professional mechanics shy away from differential work. It is not that difficult, especially when the diff carrier uses screw type adjusters. Now, a Dana 80 is a royal PITA, as the backlash and preload is set using shims under the carrier bearings...meaning repeated on/off with the bearings. I made up a set of slip-fit bearings for Dana work. Oh yeah, the D80 is a heavy unit, and you have to spread the carrier housing about 10 thou to get it all together. The 8.25 is cake....It should only take an hour and a half...two hours if the housing is really dirty. |

I tell you what We have a guy down here in the New Orleans LA area who does R&P work and is quite good at it He did the ARB in my TJ front for ~$200 and the TT in my brothers YJ front for for ~$150 if you want it done and want to come hit the local trails then you can set up to drop it off on a Friday AM we can go hit the sites around town and pick it up Friday afternoon then go wheel all day Saturday Or even better come down and do it in April that way you can get your LSD and go to the LA Off-Roaders Expo all in 1 weekend? Sounds good to you? I think this could work

There is 4 Wheel Parts and Predator here in the springs(I wouldn't use either though).I think the best place is in Denver I off hand can't remember the name of it though.That's about as far south as I can recall off the top of my head.

I used to work for 4WP and a much smaller custom shop in norh Ga. I have done over 100 R&P set ups with only one that came back. I can do them during the week at home, as I am a stay-at-home dad. Just changing diffs is 150 bucks and changing R&P and diffs is 250. Yall are welcome to watch and I can explain what is happening. And for anyone who might be worried, I was ASE certified and I have all of the correct tools for the job. My home is just off of I75 at exit 261. Travis |

Lunch locker isnt all that bad onroad once it has some miles on it. I have just over 10k on it and its really quietened down. Running 4fulltime on-road makes it invisible. |

See I thought about getting No-Slip and just putting it in myself but seems like a majority of people don't like the on road manners and I can't really justify getting in because I don't offroad too often. Also I heard it makes it hard to handle the vehicle in the snowy conditions. |

I had a ez locker in the rear of my cj and some other lunchbox locker that detroit had for a year or two in the front. It took one trip to the store to figure how it drove. After that, it was not bad at all. Cheap and easy as far as lockers go. I took it thru tellico with 35's and lunchboxes and it was a hoot. Travis |
