I was looking around on JU and noticed that 4xguard makes skids that go under the front bumper and under the rear bumper. Since Ive scratched the bottom of my front bumper some, I think these would be a sweet idea.
The rear guard wouldnt be needed as much since out hitch guards that, but the front would be neat. Maybe there would be a way to integrate that into that set of skids you are thinking about making. Ive not really looked under the bumper to see what it would take to fab that up though. It was just a thought. |

Why do those skids, they would crumble in a heart beat not to mention the lack of approach angle, hence the F/R bumbers.

well, I understand they will not take hits from a rock, but my front bumper was scratched when the front end dipped down into a mud hole, so it was just small rocks and things that did the damage And actually it could help angles since you would need to take the air dam off like they do on the WK's. Like I said, I was just throwing ideas out. |

Don't give them any more ideas. Let them get vaught up before they get the creative juices going to hard again. PLEASE let them finish my rack before giving them anymore ideas. |

I actually think that is a good idea. Make it out of some good steel and it also serves as underware. Seriously, how many KJ's have u seen that put on a steel bumper and you can see they're junk hanging out? Some is good but other's are just ugly.... |

PLEASE let them finish my rack before giving them anymore ideas. Don't be impatient. I was the first order Marty took after his Moab trip this year and I just got my sliders a few weeks ago. But, they're absolutely beautifully constructed. Every weld is perfect, every thing about them is perfect. As Troy has mentioned elsewhere, Marty is a perfectionist so you may not get your stuff real quick but, when you do get it, you will be amazed at the quality and durability so much you'll forget all about how long you had to wait. With that said, I've thought about some front armor like that myself but, I think it would make changing the oil filter an astronomical PITA! It's already hard enough to get my arm up in there. |

Why would you want to hang more lower stuff under your bumper? Talk about dragging at the mall! Good aftermarket bumpers, good skids is all you need not more low hanging crap, thats just plain ugly. That stuff looks like it would hit every McDonalds bag laying on the road! Tom |

Like I said, if made right, it wouldnt take any clearance away at all. On the grand the front airdam was huge, so it probably actually helped clearance.

ehh, I think it would only work if it was a apart of the bumper. too much junk would build up on or in it even if you sealed those holes up. something like that seems like it would belong on a Baja vehicle. |
