OME vs Frankenlift & purpose of strutplates-Daystar

Post subject:  OME vs Frankenlift & purpose of strutplates-Daystar
I'm debating whether to go with full Frankenlift II Premium or just the OME springs/struts/shocks. it looks to me like the Daystar strut plates and poly spacers used by All J's are to gain extra lift. not sure the purpose of the Daystar strut plates, is it to maintain correct alignment?

I'm aware that lift is good in clearing obstacles and fitting bigger tires, but my real purpose here is to have the best possible ride offroad, and still have a good ride around town, and not prematurely wear out cv joints.

All J's is doing this work for me this Saturday, so I have to decide now, full Frankenlift with spacers and strut plates, or, OME springs and shocks without the spacers.

The upper strut plates move the strut assembly out away from the unibody slightly, because when you lift, the control arms angle down, bringing the whole assembly closer to the unibody, so you want to push the struts away just slightly to prevent any contact issues between the unibody and the strut assemblies.

They let the shock droop more so the assembly can be assembled. Other wise there would be way to much preload on the springs since the franken lift also uses a spacer.

And since the plate lets the shock droop more, you get UBJC. Hence the need for the poly pad they give you. :)

He hit it on the head. I call All-J along time ago when the Frankenlift first came out and that was his answer.

so should I consider doing just OME springs, struts, and shocks, or add the extra spacer stuuf via the full Franken?

Kind of up to you as far as that goes, OMEs will give you some lift and a great ride just by themselves, a little more lift with the Frankenlift though. I have never ridden in a KJ with the Frankenlift but mine rides like a Caddy out on the road.
