Post subject: | underbody insulation? |
Have you guys looked under your jeeps lately? If you go through water, you might want to... I looked at mine, anf it looks like the insulation/sound barrier under my body has fallen down. It is resting on my tranny and T-case, even rubs on my front driveline. It looks like it is only held up by flanges on the side by the "frame rails" the front tranny hump has a flange and the rear just behind the t-case has a flange. And then it looks to be held in the center by the shifter linkage/ ebrake cable holes. Is it possible for the pad to shrink? Mine no longer reaches the rear flange and as I said it is resting on the t-case and my front driveline. Anyone else have this problem? Any fixes? I am thinking I may just use sheet metal screws and big washers to fasten it up to the body again. Or should I just remove it and spray on some undercoat stuff to replace it? Any thoughts are welcome... Or should I stay in the mall parking lot where I belong? ![]() |

Most of mine is just plain gone. I noticed it while poutting on some new skids. I'm new to taking it off road but it's seen plenty of car washes on the way to the mall with the wife. |

I'll be taking a good look soon. I just received my gallon of Rust Bullet. Everything is rust up here. Seems to have good reviews. The bottom of my KJ will be Navy ship gray (as a former Army tanker I dunno...), but hopefully it won't be rusting or...shrinking...away! |
