I posted in the other thread, but it is a long thread now, so here is a new one to show all the parts I have received (minus some of the hardware). Everything was packaged extremely well, and the instructions have great pictures and pretty detailed. I'm going to be going through everything in the instructions when we do the install to see if anything needs to be editted for better clarity and understanding. It will be a few weeks before we can get this thing installed, but will keep you updated as we do, and then the fun trail testing it. |

Interesting sitting here looking at what we use now and what that kits uses. Cant wait to see install pictures. Make sure you do some before and after measurements as well or does the one you are lifting already have a lift? Thanks for sharing................ |

It has a Rusty's kit right now so it will be interesting to see the difference between the two. It's easy to see a difference between stock and a lift, but between two lifts seeing a difference will make it real interesting. I will be taking plenty of measurements, notes, and a detailed install writeup for Jeep Junkie Magazine. |

The unassembled pieces are above the skyjacker shocks. It looks like the metal bracket that connects the two red pieces aren't in the picture. |

Does this correct pinion angle so you don't NEED an SYE? or is this just to get the rear axle to sit centered in the rear fenderwells? |

should be for pinion angle, would rotate the axle back at the top some, ... to get the tires recentered in the wheel well you would need new longer lower control arms as well to stretch it out then of course you "may" need longer driveshafts |

will you be cutting the 3/8 off the CV joints like they mention on the jeepinbyal web site? make sure to get a pic of that ... man ... 1100 for 2.5 or 2200 for 4 ... if this proves to be a solid lift ... I just might have to pony up some $$ |

make sure to get a pic of that ... man ... 1100 for 2.5 or 2200 for 4 ... if this proves to be a solid lift ... I just might have to pony up some $$ Yes. Marlin recommends using a lathe, but not everyone has access to one, so I will be using a bandsaw. The price may seem high, but looking at the parts, I can personally understand a big part of it. The shocks and rear coils are Skyjacker, which the name only raises the price and I'm sure Marlin has to make a margin of profit as these probably weren't cheap for him. The coil/clevis plate has some machine time involved to make those which are probably custom just for the KJ application. The front strut coils are Eibachs, which I'm not too familiar with but have heard the name a lot in custom applications which appears to be a quality brand, so I'm sure those aren't cheap. Custom steel braided brakelines, those aren't cheap, especially for DOT approved lines (these have the DOT cert label on them). This kit is put together from quality name brand parts and custom machined parts just for the KJ application. JeepinbyAl needs to make a profit on these kits to make them worth the time and investment put into them, so all these things considered, the price is about right where it should be. Installation doesn't look like it will be much different from a Frankenlift, except for installing brakelines and cutting the CV shafts which is where the labor time will add up. |

Quote: cutting the CV shafts OH boy I thought cutting the CV's was only for the 6" lift, guess I was mistaken. Oh and Eibach springs are about the best coil springs on the market, well worth the extra cost for them. |

They are a 450lb spring rate and stand 16" tall. I don't remember the spring rate and free standing height on the stock springs for comparison, but I bet Troy does. |

not really worried about the cost .. it seems in line with other lift kits for other vehicles. how well do you think this is going to adapt to the CRD's? and the cutting shoudn't be an issue .. my buddy works on a cnc .. he could probably find some minutes for me if I ask him really nice. I guess I need to see your reviews of the lift after you have used it some. |
