Squeaking sound coming from the rear shock/ spring area...

I have a squeaking sound coming from the rear shock/ spring area...has anyone experienced this before? The sound occurs when the wheel enters into a divet or along a bumpy portion of a road way.

Probably just the rear sway bar bushings. Try spraying them (or any other bushings underneith) with "Endura". It is made by "Castle" and is a heavy duty penetrating grease in a red and purple spray can. I use it when I do oil changes to spray mine since I am under the jeep anyway. No squeeks.

There are no rear swaybar bushings,the rear sway bar is directly bolted to both rear LCA's only,it does not mount to anything else,no bushing of any kind.Only have bushings on the front swaybar since it is mounted to the unibody and front LCA's.

There is the rubber isolator at the top that could be squeaking try spraying it with silicone and see if it goes away.

On the upper surface of the upper control arm for the rear axle there are two metal loop guides that the emergency brake cable runs through. This squeaked on mine (like a cricket). I put a little grease on it as a temporary fix while offroading. I have yet to get back under there to come up with a more permanent fix.

The squeak does remind me of a cricket like sound. I am running two top rear isolators on each side and the sound comes from either side. What is the best type of silicone to use? Could it be the shocks or springs? Would they make a sound like that?

I always get a kick out of these lines. We had a football coach that had some good remarks akin to that. Someone would walk up to him after an injury and say "Coach, my arm (or foot or leg or whatever) hurts when I do THIS." (showing the action that causes pain). the coaches reply was always, "Then don't do THAT and get back in there" LLOL...good times. :wink:

It has been known that if you have two isolators they will squeak. You need to spray lithium grease between the isolators and that should stop it. You get that grease in a can at any auto parts store.

my high school football coach would always say" Just put some tape on it and get back in there!" :lol:

of course some of those old tape jobs are starting to show up again now that I am getting older.
