Everyone knows how tough RL's skinks are but, I thought for sure, the tree root that you cannot see in this pic (it's about 8" in diameter hiding just behind the bumper from this angle) had killed my door, for sure.
Image
I crossed over it no problem but the muddy bank on the other side gave way and I slid into the washout, and onto the 8" root with a rather bone-jarring bang.
Image
The skinks took almost all of the impact (the pinch weld is slightly bent up underneath but unnoticeable). Looks like I may have to baby that corner now, but all in all, cheap insurance! :D

Dang, you must have hit that HARD. Imagine what would have happened without the. Well, they aren't indestructible, but they did their job. Can you email me some more pictures up close?

I'll try to get some more pics today. My daughter had the camera on Sat. I was too busy making sure nothing was broke to worry about it.

I definitely hit hard when I came down. I don't even want to imagine what would have happened without them, or even with any of the other sliders on the market... Can't imagine that any of the ones with only two crossbar supports would have held up near as well.
