Post subject:  New OME Lift......
Wanted to say thanks to the folks on this forum for all the great information and also post some pics of my '03 limited after installing some new goodies today. I decided to go with OME MD coils front/rear along with Ranchos front/rear and an additional upper rear isolator pad. I also wanted the shop to install (3) 2" conduit nuts each side for the clevis lift, but the shop said the nuts were 'too big' to fit the struts. I have to talk with them tomorrow to figure that one out. Also installed 245/75R16 Firestone A/T's which replaced Bridgestone Revo's. All the old parts, including tires, had 49000 miles on them.

The results look like I gained about 2.5" in the front and almost 3 in the rear(give or take). Only minimal rub full turn on the fog light door plastic, none by the pinch weld, actually about 1/2" clearance on each side. The ride is 100% better and definitely quieter. Here are some pics:

nice lookin set up. Say all i bought was the OME HD coils and rancho shocks for front and rear and no isolator pads also, would it still work or would it cause problems?

Also do you guys have part numbers for the OME coils and rancho shocks? i work at an autoparts store in the back so i can look up prices for this stuff

Since you are in Ohio you should of brought it over to my garage! :wink: You could of been number 5! I know the trick to installing conduits on Rancho struts by the way! 8)
BUT you dont need them anyways just loosen the clevis up raise the strut up some and tighten it back down. 20 minute job.

Good looking RED Liberty my second choice, you will enjoy the OMEs for sure great set up!

yeah Tom, I was thinking of asking to bring it up your way, but I wasn't sure of my schedule over the next few weekends and I really needed to get the tires changed over. The next one you do though, I'd love to help out and learn....Never been a mechanic, but I can also be the team bottle opener!! :P

_UnLiMiTeD_: part number for Medium Duty Rears is OME947. I had purchased the rear isolators, but wasn't sure if I was going to use them or not. They removed the original ones and installed 2 new ones each side. My wife drove it home from the shop and when she pulled in the drive, I could immediately see the rear was sitting higher than the front. I'm okay with that though. I think it would be fine without the additional isolator. Since I had them I figured install them and if I don't like it, I can always remove them....

Man you must think I work cheap! .....Budweiser come on have to get up to at least some Sam Adams or ??? :wink: Like my ex wife said " hes not cheap but he can be had for next to nothing" :? :wink:

i have a question with just the OME coils and ranchos all the way around you'd be looking at 2" of lift correct?

could one do that AND the daystar 1.5" spacer? for a rough lift of 3.5" front and 4" in the rear?

you'll be needing to replace some other parts to get that working. basically will need to do eveything that the jeepinbyal 4" does. but, no ones really tested that on the trails either. tjkj has a bunch of lift though. see what he did!

You would get way to much lift with a daystar 1.5in lift spacer front and rear. It would look sweet, but wouldnt last in the long run at all.

The franken lift uses around a .75in spacer under the OME spings on the front and just the OME springs on the rear.

Looks good!! I just measured mine and it's about a 1/2" higher front and rear taking measurements like that. In the front i have 3ring clevis, rusty's springs and rusty top strut plate. All that and i'm only 1/2" higher! In the rear i only have 1 isolator also. Think i'm gonna swap to ome springs in the front and add 1 more isolator to the rear.

what all would I need to do to get it to work? would it work if I cut the CV just a little bit?
