Found a couple local deals for the rims and tires that I just couldn't pass up. I'm gonna try to make my own center caps on the cnc lathe I work on, since I can't find any I like in black. Haven't flexed it yet but so far they don't rub any worse than the Silentarmors (E rated) with the OE rims. Been busy as hell lately but, I managed to snap this during lunch today.

Yeah, I'm lucky enough to work for a company that gives out profit incentive bonuses every quarter. This last quarter was pretty profitable for me. Hope it lasts a while. I still need more stuff!

Are your new tires 245/75/16 ? Or did you stay with the 17" wheels..

I don't think they make MTRs in 17". yeah, they're 245/75R16 ... C rated, I think. Haven't really looked 'em over real good yet.

Lookin' good. I just got some 16×7 Unique Series 42s last weekend and I also took out the center caps. In order to keep the black-on-black look, I sanded down the wheel mating surface around the lug bolts, taped off the disc brakes and studs, and sprayed it with some Dupli-Color Truck Bed Coating ($8 at PepBoys). I'm real happy with the look.

Unfortunately the pics I took are on my computer at work. I'll post them tomorrow.

Looks Good. :D As for the centre caps, get yourself some of the ones of the standard kj steelies and paint them black. Thats what I did on my 15in rims and they look like they were made for em. All you have to do is drill a couple of holes in the rim centre to srcew them on.

the centercaps on my '02 actually bolt in, so make sure you know what you're buying

Yeah, just looking over cmohr's pics. I don't have that style of center cap on my OE wheels. Wish I did, those look great! I'll probably just order a set of basic black ones from rockratz.com (over the phone so I can make sure I get the right size and all that) if I can't find any here in town somewhere... when I can afford more stuff again, that is.

I think it was '02 only (ie mine) that had the centercaps that don't bolt in. the '03 (i think)+ Sport steel wheel caps are held on by the lugnuts.

I'll get that done, eventually. ;) Already started, as a matter of fact. Went out to the lake and was finally armored enough to go up on all these rocks as big as houses that I've been just drooling at the chance to crawl for the last year 19 months or so. The MT/Rs rub in different spots at full stuff but not any worse than the Silentarmors. They get a LOT better traction, though! :D :D :D btw, are all MT/Rs E load range, 10 (7+3) ply? Or do they also make C/D load rated MT/Rs?
