Which one do you have? Where did you get it? How much did you pay? Are you happy with it? Thanks in advance. |

I got the Rusty's diff guard for $50 + shipping on one of his sales. It fit perfectly and is one heavy duty piece of steel. I especially like the cad. plating.

I have a Rock Ring from Poison Spider customs. It is very heavy duty. However, it does cost a bit more, $108. I bought mine at www.spidercustoms.com. |

Wonder if Poison Spyder Customs will really have the BomB Shell rear differential (Chrysler 8.25) cover out sometime this fall? |

I spoke to them at the offroad expo last weekend at Pomona Ca. They expect to thave the 8.25 and the Ford 8.8 out in 2 to 3 months. I've got the poision Spyder rock ring on my 8.25 and really like it. The construction is battleship strong, the counter sunk stanless steel mounting hardware is excellent quality and design. Hard to beat the rock ring....except for the Crane cover which gives you more fluid capacity and is nearly indestructable by all acounts I've read/heard. The rock ring is super low profile but will prevent your cover from being peeled and the ring gear is protected too. Got mine from ALL J Products @ http://www.boulderbars.com Good luck |

http://www.younger-bros.com/Jeep%20and% ... hicles.htm There is the link to Younger Bros, it is toward the bottom of the page. Bad news is that for somereason they say they will not ship them anymore, nor does it list a price... But there is an e-mail link to ask them if you want. |

I don't get it....it is more expensive than Rusty's and has holes all over it. Why would you want that? What advantage would there be? |

I like that Rusty's doesn't have "holes" so to speak. At this point I'm just trying to way my options though. In this particular case I see a couple advantages. For one - the ring goes all the way around the diff cover. I would imagine this adds a little bit of strength. Two - you can still access the fill hole. From the looks of Rusty's that could be a challenge. Once everything is tightened down and your RTV sets up. How do you get the gear oil in? I'd rather not take the bolts out once my RTV sets up and then install the guard. You're asking for a leak. Again, if folks can shed some light on those fears that would be great. I'm not knocking any of these guards. Just trying to figure out what's best for my purposes. |

I do not like the rocky road design, does not look strong, the gaurd pieces seem too spread out, but i gues it would be stronger than the diff cover. Again, I am sorry about the bad spot... But you wanted a challenge As for the rusty, you pegged it Joel, how do you fill it??? |

No problem to get to the filler hole. I definatly like the Crane the best but it will cost some serious dough. |
