had an Astro van once with a similar problem. needed to replace an "oil sending unit" :? I think it was called.

Yea, I would start with the oil sending unit and go from there.

Its in the oil filter area.

Same thing on mine exact to a tee oil pressure sending unit. It is just above where you oil filter goes. It was $67 can for the part. You will need a special socket lucky I have a uncle who is an auto mechanic. Tricky spot to get at but save yourself some bucks. Hopefully it helps good luck.

also change your oil filter too, in the off chance that you have a defect.
