Post subject:  roof racks?

What roof racks are folks using on their KJ's? I see Wilderness Racks makes a sport rack for the Liberty (MSRP of ~$450.00). Anybody else using anything similar?

Thanks

I just picked up my completed product today. It is an eBay roof rack that came unfinished and had no mounting on it. Took it over to All-J products (http://www.boulderbars.com/) and had them weld on the mounting legs and powdercoat it. It's sweet now, replaces the factory roof rails altogether (bolts directly into the holes used for the OEM rails).

Best of all, it's powdercoated white :D

That's what I was hoping to find, something to replace the factory bars. Any chance you can take/post pictures of the rack once it's installed?

I'll take a pic of it tonight, hopefully will have action pics of it this weekend when we go to death valley.

Updated OK, found a non-dead link on eBay, here it is:

Sorry, i did not have the jack mounted at this picture taking... There are also 2 antenna mounts at the rear of the rack.

I have a Surco. I got it from Summit. It attaches to the factory rails. I also have my spare tire up there now, so this is a tad outdated.

I have this one (although it is u bolted to the stock rails) and love it. It is solid as a rock and holds tons of stuff. I pop-rivited some sheetmetal around the corners for looks, although it probably isn't too good for the MPG.

Makes a good Bison viewing platform too.

Here are some pictures of the rack with All-J base welded on a little differently.

That looks great. Thanks for posting. I sent an email to All J about shipping the mounts, but haven't heard back yet. Since I'm in CO, makes it a little difficult to have them do the welding/painting and ship it out here.

If you have Tim (the eBay guy) do the exact same rack I have, it should pretty much accept the All-J base the way All-J made it for me. They normally make the legs go all the way across, but in this case since I already have the cross rails in there, it'd just be one long metal on top of another and kind of silly :D I'm glad they did it this way. Check it out first though since all this is non-standard.
