I really messed up my rear axel on Friday.   My PowerTrax came apart and really messed things up. I need to replace everything in the differential housing. I am looking for instructions and pictures for the following:

- Ring and Pinion
- Detroit Locker install
- ARB Locker install

I am trying to decide if I can do the work myself so I can save money and upgrade. Someone suggested getting a salvaged axel assembly and just do a bolt on replacement.

The differential housing looks ok, only a few scratches. The diff cover has some scratches and a nasty gouge in it so it will need to be replaced. The differential carrier also took a beating and will need to be replaced also.

I cleaned out all the frags and tried to drive it out of the garage to park it off to the side. The ring and pinion gears are slipping against each other.

Any other advice?

Thanks,
Ken

Just saw this post in the tech section about installing an Auburn LSD

I think AllJ's has a used Trakloc for sale.

Yes, I saw that, but it doesn't show enough pictures finishing the job. It sounds like the Detroit Locker is the perferred locker on LOST.

As long as you can tell that it is unlocking, you should be ok. Mine was staying locked. When I would turn a corner, it would drag a wheel. It worked great for me till it broke.
