Ok I have found out that spacer lifts are crap, and not worth wasting my money on. I see tons of people like the rusteys or OME lift, but for about $100 less I could get the Rocky Road Outfitters rockfather 1 including shipping. is there anyone out there that has used this lift? if so I would like to know what you thought/think about it.

With the extra $100 I save on the lift I will be able to get wheel spacers, which is another question are wheel spacers a must have with any type of lift, I will be running 245/75R16 tires on stock renegade wheels.

I really think the best bang for your buck would be the OME HD with the 132L rear struts & Jeepin' by Al's A-arms. Should run you about $1300 total, but great working set up with no regrets.

Dont need wheel spacers with a lift. I would spend the dollars buying a OME or even a Rustys than RRO Have only heard of a few who actually like to deal with them.
Myself I would get just the OME springs from like AllJs (fantastic to deal with) and then Rancho shocks/struts or OMEs shocks struts.
Heard too many bad things about RRO in the past 3 plus years

Like, that they still owe me money. I don't expect to ever see it at this point. I've also let them know that I tell everyone I see asking about their products, that, as well. They just don't care. I was in a bind and had no better option available than Rusty's. Otherwise I would have replaced RRO's spacer lift with OME HD's but that lift had made my KJ unsafe to drive and I had to settle for what I could afford in a hurry.

Nobody that runs the OME HD lift has ever complained about any part of it. Except maybe finding a spring compressor strong enough to put the struts together. Like I said in your other thread, shop around a bit. You can get all the components for only a little more than what you're looking to spend. And you'll come out with more wheel travel, greater articulation, better handling and probably more height than the Rockfather.

I have the exact lift you are talking about on my CRD I love it with only one exception you need to buy the rear springs with the lift you can talk them down to $100 bucks for them if you dont the back is real soft (my problem) and it feels wierd driving down the road but I have the heaviest front springs they sell due to aftermarket bumper and it still rides funny I will be buying heavy rear springs soon. I had no problem dealing with them and their product is fine they use OME springs.

but i just drove there to pick my stuff up so it was easy to deal with them.

I have the OME on my CRD...It rides so good! The Shocks/Struts are just that good.

I personnely have had bad experience with RRO's. But I'm not going to bash them "too much" today. Accept for they knwo that they sell "some" BAD lifts and still continue to sell them :? (poor customer service right there). Anyway, dont make the mistake that alot of us have and buy a spacer lift or even a lift that hasnt been "as" tested as much like the rockfather I lift compared to rusty's or the old man emu lifts! I would first recommend either the frankenlift with OME all around and if that is too pricey then go for just the OMH HD lift with either rancho struts/shock or better yet the OME struts and shocks for a bit more$$. Do yourself the favor and spend your money right the first time!!!

I will say it again after every one else
OME is the way to go
you can run 245/75's on OE wheels no spacers needed
you will need to put some bump stop spacers on the rear to keep all rubbing down
but it is not a "MUST"
go with MED if you dont plan on a winch/bumper combo in the near future
go HD if you know you will have a winch/bumper and "heavy mods."

also you can do a few other "tricks" to get an extra 1" or so of lift for >100$
I plan on doing these "tricks" next year and will be cutting some "special spacers" for my own trial and error
right now the wife DD's the KJ with OME med. and 245/75 MTR's no issues

Good thread to dig up. Is this still the general thought on RRO? Not trustworthy and poor service? Seams to be a little vendor war with RRO and ALLJ. At least that is what the website leads me to believe.

just do OME HD coils with Ranchos all around and you'll be good no need for the a-arms unless you just really want to

No vendor war , AllJs is an upstanding company and would never resort to the things that RRO says and does.

Their website just shows how they do business. Go to any forum out there and you will maybe find 1 out of a 100 who has a good story about dealing with RRO. The only good thing about them is that they do sell OME springs BUT you can buy them just as cheap anywhere else!

If you taught a marketing class in college theirs would be a great site to show HOW not to market. They maybe ok for Zuki owners but as far as KJs.....

Maybe a few others I can't think of off the top of my head right now, are The vendors that not only sponsor this forum but supply products for event raffles, etc. They have also all been huge supporters of the Liberty and all other Jeeps. I don't think you will find any bad press on any of them.

RRO on the other hand.......Tons of negative press on them all over the net. Heck they can't even make their Ebay customers happy. What a shame. :?

I have the RRO I, it just is not on yet. But I bought it from another member and bypassed teh dramatics that the purchaser had with RRO.

The springs are OME, and the rear on the #1 uses a daystar spacer. Most of the parts are name brand. But RRO still sells a lift they know hurts the jeep, and so I do not put much stock into what the say about themselves.

If I was buying from a vendor, it would not be RRO.
