So who has the best rock rails out there? Rocky Road says they have the strongest on earth, Rusty's look good. the ones from All J look good so who has the best set?

Same question for skid plates.
I believe these will be my next mod, if I can come up with some good info.

I think they for the most part are probably the same thickness of metal, I would think. how good are the welds? is it in your price range. do you want to support the people that support the KJ? I have Rock Lizard sliders and they are pretty stout.

not sure about sliders but I would go with a company that is "dedicated" to the KJ ,Rock Lizard
as far as skids the pickins are very slim
for the most part the OE skids are fine besides the tranny skid not worth much more than scrap value
the problem is no one else makes one
I designed and had one fabricated and so far so good I have plans to make it stronger when I start to wheel the KJ more
but for now there is not much in a mall parking lot that will hurt it

I have slammed my whole KJ down(and very hard) a few times on my rails (Rock Lizard Super Skinks) and they are holding up like a champ, very tough.I know KW AV8R has split a pretty good size rock with his Skink Sliders.

Oh and I guess I'm a little biased,but a great product 8) .

I somehow managed to bend my step-skinks from Rock Lizard but I have no doubt that a lot more things would have bent if I'd had any of the weaker-looking competitors' sliders.

Mine will be available the first part of the new year. And since you are just a hop jump and a skip away from SLC you could save the shipping cost. For specs PM me if your interested.

The All J boulder bars can support the weight of the whole vehicle also. Nothing like the peace of mind you get when your KJ is a sled over an obstacle and you know it'll still look right and be functional after. I would highly recommend theirs or Rock Lizards. The East coast guys seem happy with the CRS ones too.

For skids, ALL J's super skid for the tranny and Kilby for the gas tank are awesome.

I spoke to Andy at CRS about two months ago, said he was shutting down shop and working for someone else. Therefore the CRS Rails are no longer available (but they are good!)

They seem to be a cross of Rock Lizards Super skinks and All Js Boulder Bars anyway.

When I decide to buy a set of rock rails, these are the ones I'm going to get.
