Has anyone attempted this? I'm looking to see if it is possible and what the costs would be. |

I wish. Not an option. |

That's probably the best, cheapest solution - the CRD has a different front subframe - not to mention all of the computer issues. |

Lots of work and money. You would probably need to find a wrecked CRD with little or no front damage. Then you'd have most of the parts necessary and a reference point to begin. Current KJ + wrecked CRD KJ + bottomless pit of cash + a wealth of time to work on it = a Converted CRD KJ Current KJ + cash = CRD KJ Personally I'd be searching for a used CRD, but I have little time and less cash. |

Your looking at $10,000-$20,000+ for that conversion, really depends on if you can find a decen priced wrecked CRD and if you do all the labor or not. I know that Burnsville offroad in MN does the 2.8CRD conversion for TJ's for $24,000,probally about the same to do a gasser KJ. |

If you could find a good junker that has working parts you need...and you have a KJ that is in good shape but needs an engine...might be worth it. Would probably need to swap the tranny in too. Engine cradle and CV Shafts would need to be swapped. Basically the whole engine compartment would need to be transfered in whole. If you have a good donor and a great KJ with mods already done (lift, ect), it might be the way to go. |
