Or to put it another way.

245/75-16=30.5x9.50-15.

No, no spacer.

So should I got and get the 16s or the 15s. I mean the 15s would be cheaper to buy tires for. That's about the only thing I see better

There are only a couple of 15" rims that fit over the front brake calipers. I believe only steel rims - no alloys

But - the way I understand it is, some steel rims, not all. Definitely no alloys.

It's tough, that's why I bit the bullet and went with the 16" after all. Try not to make decisions on this stuff based solely on $$$. I'm not wealthy, and I'm definitely on a tight budget - sometimes patience is the way to go.

I stayed with 16" wheels to get that much desired extra 1/2" of heighth over the 15's. Plus going from stock size to 1 size bigger helped also.

I went with 15" rims for the same reason you mentioned. When it comes time for new tires, they'll be cheaper, even if only a bit. I'm running the plain jane steel rockcrawlers from 4wheelparts.com and I have no fitment issues. I also went with a 3.75" backspace, so they stick out a bit.

They were $40 each.

Stuffing the tires with that much B.S. must be quite an ordeal. How often do you pop the flares off when off-roading?
