Since the rear end of a KJ is a solid axle and NOT an independent suspension, there "should" be NO adjustment points for an alignment...Correct ?

So...if the above IS true then a shop should have NO reason to charge a KJ customer for a "4-WHEEL" alignment....Correct ?

Technically there is an adjustment you can do to your rear axle. The point to which it hooks up in both side has to be correct. You need the axle to be perpendicular to the vehicle otherwise it will drag to one side.

Now the good question is if this is at all possible to simply "adjust". I would think not.

No, there are no adjustments to make to the rear of a KJ...but some places charge the same for an alignment be it 2 or 4 wheel.

That's what I'm getting at. The shops the CHARGE for a 4-Wheel alignment when there is NO rear wheel adjustment are committing FRAUD!!

DON'T PAY FOR A 4-Wheel Alignment on your KJ!!

Like I said...they may charge the same for ALL alignments.

Is it fraud if they charge you for a four-wheel alignment on your Honda Accord if it doesn't need the rear adjusted at all? How much did you pay for your alignment, if you don't mind me asking?

Guys dont be silly
Think about what you are saying
"the KJ has a solid rear axle so you only need to align the front"

This is wrong
when they align the tires on any car they put them all into 2 parallel lines so that the front left and rear left are in a line and the same for the right then make the fronts on IFS vehicles go strait up and down and 90* to the center line of the jeep
if they did not align the front to the rear your Jeep would "crab" they just can not adjust the rear so they only adjust the front

Besides why are you guys with IFS complaining I pay the same to have my TJ aligned as I do the KJ
and 99% of the shops only make 2 of the 3 adjustments that can be made
the KJ has like 3 per side

What Jason said is correct, back when I was learning to do and doing alignments back in the 70s we did the same thing they are now, except they call it a different name to charge more. Back then someone would just come in and say" give me an alignment" and we would do it. People now days want more for their money so they change the name of the process and every body is happy

They dont actually align the rear they just align it with the front and go from there in simple terms!
