Is there a reason the Boulder Bars are so much shorter than the MOPAR Rock Rails? When I had my MOPAR rails on they went from wheel well to wheel well, but the Boulder Bars stop about 6" short in front and back of the well. |

'05.. but I'm talking about being shorter front to back, not how far out they stick (the '05 bars stick out a tad bit further to allow space for the trim). |

Adam, you're supposed to be on a Halloween run this weekend, not here on the board complaning that you're six inches short. |

I think Willy was trying to say that the 05 KJs may be a bit longer than previous year KJs. |

Adam, mine are behind the front flare and in front of the rear flare. If you would have been looking the other way, you'd see I'm 6 inches short also. |

On the 05s the bottom plastic piece is also the bottom of the fender flares, the 04 and earlier have longer flairs and the plastic trim is between them. That's where your 6 inches came from. |

Not much to tell. we were squeezing betwen a couple tight trees and the trail was at a slight downhill slope to the right and it was very slippery. I was clearing the trees fine but then my rear end slid down the slope a little and the tree kinda arched outward at just the right hieght and pushed in the window with a loud CRACK! Oh and I got a quote today for $250 plus tax installed. |

Also, since there was never an answer. There are 2 reasons. 1. The length was all about UPS shipping. If the bars were longer, they wouldn't fit in the box for shipping. I would have made a bigger box, but it's already oversize, and bigger would have drove the weight and the shipping size into more shipping dollars, not just a couple but a lot. Much bigger and heavier and they would be truck frieght. There was one more reason too. 2. If they were longer, there would have been more leverage on the mounts, and we were afraid to put that much leverage on the unibody |

Thanks Quinn, I figured there was a reason, I was just wondering what it was. |
