Just a quick note to everyone to keep an eye on your quick disconnects. Specifically the stainless steel posts (the "pins" you slip the disconnect onto). Those posts can work loose very easily, especially the top ones since turning causes the wheel assembly to come in contact with the post. I just lost my top post on one disconnect and crushed my disconnect when it fell and jammed against the wheel. No damage to the KJ but the disconnect is toast. The JKS Quicker Disconnects are a decent product but please be careful and keep your eye on the tightness of your posts and quality of the snap pins. I would suggest that you check the disconnects at every oil change or 3,000 miles. Better yet, use thread lock on the stainless steel posts help keep them tight (I didn't use thread lock). |

I used threadlock and tightened them to 100 lbs., but I still lost a pin. I threw the discos in my spare parts bag, and I just remove my sway bar now when I need to. It's only a few bolts, and fits in the back of the KJ pretty easily. |

Im not sure exactly what happened but the thing got wedged between the steering and his suspension/knuckle I do believe. He posted pics of it. I think it was JJKJ.. It was awhile back. ![]() |

Those darned posts are aluminum, so if the thread locker does not cure right-- the bolts have no strength to hold the post on. |

It was LilMattty that threw the sway bar. From what I remember him telling me, the bottom pin on the LCA came out. It then popped up into the tie rod and some how tweaked the front end all up. I'm not sure if it was the rack/ pinion or the tie rod end. So it could have been part of the rack that became "broke." I'm sure JJ would love to chime in, if he wasn't out playing with his new toy. later, mike |
