Well, I finally got everything together. ARB's, gears, compressor, rebuild kits etc.

Took the CRD to the shop this morning, should have it back tomorrow, locked and loaded.

This has been in the works since September, when I bought the gears. finally its go time. I'll post parts list and pics soon.

Awesome! What compressor did you go with? When you get some time, post a picture of where you mounted it. You’ll have some fun! :D

Setback, Got a call from the shop this morning. The bolts provided with the Precision Gears 4:10's for rear are breaking while they are trying to tighten them. So they are overnighting a new set.

I've got the same ARB compressor, We discussed the location and he was going to try installing behind the drivers side headlight, under the fuse panel (CRD). Won't know if it will fit until he gives it a try. I didn't buy the attachment for the air hose, but will probably rig up something after I've lived with it for a while.

How much did this set you back, minus installation?

ARB RD93 and RD100 lockers: about $750 each
Compressor ARB CKMA12: about $250
New 4:10 gears front and back plus rebuild kits, not technically a must, but I've put larger tires on so this should return some MPG and power about $500
New Yukon rear Axles, not technically a must, but might as well do it right the first time, $250 for the pair
Labor Est is about $800, but I don't have the bill yet so we will see.
Total out the door: ~$3300 Shocked

bugnout....I hope you have the right setup for your rear. There are two types. Each has a different design and requires different bolt sizes. I hope those guys aren't trying to install the wrong size bolts. You need to contact Mopar/Jeep Parts Dept and talk to them about which setup you have. One size is the 10mm bolts the other is 3/8" bolts.

It doesn't matter when you are changing the carrier, plus if you get the install kit for the gears set(as in same company) the correct bolts will be included.

Another delay, d30a rebuild kit was missing outer bearing seals. I think this is a KJ unique part, so I can understand why it was not included. Reider didn't have a d30a rebuild kit, had to put one together. I'll give them a call and let them know to add that to their kt. Got the new ring bolts from Precision and finished up the rear diff rebuild. re-welded/reworked my ruffstuff diff cover and replaced the U joints on the drive shaft.

The ARB compressor was mounted between the battery and the brake booster. Installer said the used d30a I took to them to install the locker in was built better than the one that came of my CRD. Didn't catch exactly why, something about a plastic part vs a real bearing, but I'll update this once I talk to the mechanic to find out what exactly is better about the older d30a.

I can pick it up tomorrow morning. I'll post pics as soon as I get a chance.

Woo Hoo :P got the CRD back from the shop. Estimate was $800, came in at $790, and they fixed some other stuff while they were at it.

The deal on the early model d30a was that they used to build them with torrington bearings, my 2005 d30a has a piece of plastic for the bearing  so the new old diff that is in my CRD is better built than the old new diff that is in my garage.

Pictures this weekend for sure. Got home from work too late tonight.

thats awesome....great the old new stuff is better, can't believe they put plastic in there. darn cutting corners to save money. sounds like a quality shop you got there though, fixing the other stuff. gott love that, most places just tell you something needs fixed...like "your fuel system needs to be cleaned...its only $150."

super jealous man!

Don't know, I bought it from DaveKJ02 who bought it as a spare from a wrecking yard.
