Promise, I'll keep it simple

Have ordered a Rusty's 2.125 combo lift. Need to know if I can use spring compressor or if I need to acquire a strut compressor...

Thanks,

Sharon

Spring compressor is what you are going to need for the front struts. Some people also use it on the rear (I just stood on the axel and we placed the spring and I hopped off) After disconnecting the bottom shock mount.

You will need a Macpherson style strut compressor. If you ask for a spring compressor, you might get the wrong kind. Auto Zone loans them out for free with a $40 deposit.

I had a heck of a time getting the arms for the compressor inbetween the coils when they were compressed in the strut assy. After doing my own strut assy, I would recommend having a shop do it. (I wont do the strut assy myself again) But everything else is really easy.

Well, we did it ourselves!!!! Now the top of the front fender flare sits at 33.5, the rear is at 35 and I think it looks great. DH is worried that the rear is too high - anyone else have an opinion? Don't want to break something important!
