I already searched and read up. I just don't know what 2" diameter conduit lock nuts are. I am assuming these are the metal things you use for pipes? I am trying to get all my info straight and it's thrown me. |

Yeah, look at the picture. They are thin like washers but with teeth and threads. The most important thing is that they fit over the end of the strut perfectly and are made of galvanized steel. |

What do lock rings have to do with a clevis lift? Has the procedure been modified recently? |

My understanding (haven't read the write-up in a while) is that the lock rings go on the end of the strut assembly to keep it from sliding back down into the clevis if you hit an object hard enough. |

Those lock rings or conduit nuts fill in the gap when you do a clevis lift. They keep the strut from slipping down into the clevis fork and the perfect size - 2 rings on each strut add about 1/4" more space = 1/2+ of extra lift. |
