I am running the RE rear control arms and love them. No problems at all and it lets it flex like crazy. Again...no problems at all. later...Clint

Ok, I have 265s on the 02 now. We rigged ARB TJ rear shim packers in the back to get a little extra lift out of it. I'll do a write up on it sometime, and Quinn will be carrying them soon so you can get some if you want. Still sort of testing them to make sure it's reliable... with those and OME struts on the Frankenlift (ours sit slightly higher in the front than the Ranchos) you can get 265's under them without rubbing. Anyone who was looking at mine at the Super Secret run saw mine was about an inch taller... Anyway, with that much lift in the rear, the control arms are too short. The rear tires sit a little too close to the front of the well and will touch at full stuff. Quinn tells me I can run the Rubicon Express 3715 arms with the Super Flex Joint on the back without any problems. I guess he has done it for a few of us already...I called Sean at RE, got the dimensions, and they'll fit, plus I can extend them out a little to push the rear axle back a touch. Should fix the problem...loses the rear sway bars, but I'm not losing any sleep over that. Anyway, I'm trying to find the guys that have em on already and see how the Super Flex works? Those suckers have some TRAVEL and I was wondering if it has caused anyone trouble (Lost coils...blown shocks...etc) before I throw em on this weekend. Trying to decide if I need limit straps or not... |

Hey Seth, I have around 5.5 inches in the rear now, and the Rusty's arms as I described in the fab posts. The only worry I would have is the top ball joint and the "boomer-rang". I remember some old posts on guys breaking them due to lift and flexing. I did pop a spring when I tore off a shock mount in the rear. The stock arms are way too short. Right now I have my Rusty's arms set at 18" center to center of the bolt holes. The pinion is still off, and its vibrating pretty good 70 mph. I will be installing a Tom Woods slip yoke and drive shaft soon. Hopefully that will get rid of the vibration. So expect vibration, and upper ball joint problems with anything over 4 inches. BTW I replaced my upper ball joint with a 2" daystar flex joint welded to the "boomer-rang" and I fabed up a new mount on the differential to accept the flex joint. Al |

so these are adjustable? How do you know if you have the length right? just trial and error until you have the least driveline vibration? Or should they come preset? |

When i did my install. i just set them to the same length at the stock ones and it has worked great. no vibrations or any problems at all. They do flex a heck of a lot more than the stock arms. I have been very pleased with them. later...Clint |

Same here...same lenght as stock. They add a TON more flex than stock , but do not allow you to use the stock swaybar since there are no mounting points for it. |

Al: Details on your current setup plus pics would be much appreciated. I'm to broke to do any more mods right now, but I'm using my extra time to better plan out what I do once I find a job (anyone wanna hire me?) Have you considered fabbing a custom rear UCA (boomerang) with better angles for the joints (and possibly a bit longer?) |

I'm actually planning on using them to push mine back a little. The extra shim packers I put on have them riding a little too close to the front of the fender wells, and it causes a little rubbing. As for making sure they're right, it's pretty much trial and error unless you want to do the math to get the length right, and even then it doesn't always come out....just be sure to keep them the same length if you make any changes and it won't mess up your ride. As for pictures, I emailed one to Clint...Clint, I don't think it would hurt to post that one here...think you could host that for me? Thanks man! Or could someone PM me the site to use to host a picture? Our website is Copywrited... can't do it from there. |

OK, check it out... That's my rig. 265's...with the OME Struts running the Frankenlift and the shim packers Quinn and I modded up on the back. Also notice the "Way too heavy" Bull Bar w/ an M8000 in it. The tires don't rub, I have full steering in the front...you'll need spacers or new rims to run 265's. Myth= Bull Bar weighs 150 lbs. Fact= Really only weighs about 75 pounds |

Sure did. Not my first choice, but they're holding up fine. We chose to keep the Green Rims for looks... SpiderTrax makes some really nice ones, and it widens the stance by 2.5" |
