This is my front diff on my '03. You can see the pic goes from the front crossmember (on top) to the rear crossmember (on the bottom), where my engine/tranny and transfer case skid plates mount. Isn't there a skid plate that protects the front diff? I remember someone saying that it should come stock on all Liberty's...the "Front Suspension, steel" skid plate. It's even on the Mopar website under that name, part #82209026. Right after the name it says "(same as production)". Shouldn't I have this skid plate, stock? From the picture, can someone tell me if I'm just being dumb and can't see it, somehow. I'm pretty sure I don't have it, since I can still see the front diff.
I asked a friend at the local dealership about it, and he said they only carry front tow hooks, gas tank skids, and tranny skids for the 2003. He also said he drives Liberty's everyday and that he has no idea of what skid I'm talking about.

I have a skid for everything else. I just want my front diff to be protected. Someone please help me, as this is awefully confusing!?

ask him to look up replacement parts for the liberty (as if it got into an accident) that's what my dealer did & got me the skid even gave me the diagram to show me what it looked like,it won't list it in accesories,I found the invoice (I THINK)
PART # 82209455-TOTAL WAS $51.45
pretty sure this is it

Did you buy it new?

If so, look at the big sticker, and see if it lists the suspension skid. If so you should have it. You can also go to a dealer with your VIN, and they can print it out for you. If yours came with the off road group or the skid plate protection package, you should have it on there.

I think in DC's cost cutting wisdom, it became an option on the '03's.

Also you can look in front of the 2 bolts coming through the front crossbember (your rack and pinion bolts) There should be holes with the threaded nutzert things for the skid to bolt to if it was there originally.

So no it is not you, it is not on your rig

My KJ came with a TRAIL RATED badge, but no skids! I bought OEM ones from the dealer, you need 4 skids total
1. front susp.
2. tranny (05 skid that can be retrofitted easy)
3. tranfer case
4. Fuel tank

So I need to go to my local dealership and tell them I need a "replacement" part, and then ask them to look for the skid? Wouldn't this mean it should be stock?

Why do we have to trick dealerships to get what we want. Jeeze.

I have one that looks pretty much brand new. I bought it in error (thought it was a tranny skid plate) If your interested I will sell it to you cheap. If you would like we can talk via e-mail.
