Anybody make or have you ever seen a safari rack on a KJ like they use on the soft top Wranglers? Bolting supports to the body around the windows, not to crossbars or factory rails, and covering the entire top of the vehicle? Just curious. Thanks ![]() |

I finally made my own rack as others here have, replacing the stock plastic rails and using their mounting bolts. I will post pictures of it tomorrow. |

I don't have exactly what you asked for, but mine is a con ferr roof rack welded to crossbars that mount dirrectly to the factory holes. Makes the rack much lower and stronger, although mine only covers about 2/3 of the roof. Hope you can see it under all the mud ![]() ![]() I got this rack from Wally (allyrand). He set it up with a hi-lift, ax, and the lights that are visible. It also has CB antenna mounts in the back and a shovel mount. Both JJ and Nanette have similar racks on their KJs. I'll post some mudless pics tomorrow. |

When I fabbed up my roof rack, I bought a few of these to mount my shovel axe and hi lift. They also hold my maglite, and a large one holds my CO2. They are sweet. ![]() Please try and not laugh at my beautiful (first try) welds. ![]() ![]() This is mounted to the roof rack with my old shovel I just replaced. ![]() This is the super grip holding my CO2. I bought the 2" grips for my axe and shovel and they work perfectly, I got the 2" for my jack as well, but I need 3", so I am going to order 2 new 3" mounts for my jack. Not sure how these would mount to some of the racks I've seen on here but "necessity is the mother of invention" as they say. Here is the link to where I got mine. http://www.endroad.com/page/page/675042.htm |
