I am looking at replacing those POS Goodyear Wrangler ST 225/75R16 with Cooper Discoverer S/T-C in 245/75R16. Can I run this tire on a stock Liberty Limited CRD without problems? I do plan on putting the OME lift in later this summer/fall, but the tires need to go NOW! The Goodyear is 29.3" tall and 8.8" in section width. The Cooper is 30.5" tall and 9.6" in section width. Not an aweful lot bigger, but will the work without tearing things apart??? |

![]() Yeah the CRD will turn them but in the process the fender flares will go flying and the liners melt. ![]() I'd pay to watch that. ![]() |

Go ahead guys make your jokes about the CRD's! I hauled a car trailer, not a car dolly, with a Buick Regal on it, from Hartford Connecticut to Maine with the cruise control set at 75 and got 19 miles to the gallon... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yea, Im envious of failing torques, failing EGR valves, water in my intake when it rains, high diesels prices, clanking of a diesel on a cold morning... Seems like a great choice to me. ![]() Just givin you all a hard time.. We all know the crd's are awesome. |

![]() Just givin you all a hard time.. We all know the crd's are awesome. Except that, in about 37K miles, I have never had a TC failure, EGR failure, or water in my intake/air filter and, since I get compensated for fuel in my semi, I use some of that fuel in my CRD and my cost is less than $1 a gallon. All the while I use my CRD to pull a 300 gallon fuel wagon, smaller grain wagons, drive cattle and check fencelines in some rather rough terrain. And I have busted 31mpg a few times on trips. Yeah.... it was a great choice! Now that I said all this, the CRD will probably break down!! ![]() |

I know one thing... I wish the diff was not offset in the CRD so that I could put a 4 inch lift on without the drama and issues associated with that drivers side CV joint. Everything has its plusses and minuses. I would not trade my CRD for the world, but I sure have had to stick some cash into it to get it where it needs to be and while I would do it all over again, I have much more respect for the gasser KJ's than I had when I first test drove the CRD. |
