Does anyone have Rustys Rock Rails?? if so how are they? have you hit them really good? I am wondering b/c there is only two legs on them and most others have three or two but then they are triangulated |

They'll do the Job ok. Just don't go dropping off the a 10 foot wall and land on them. If you want - I'll take some pictures of mine. |

i got them, just not installed yet. they are beefy. the difference is that RL and BB attach to the pinch weld which is supposibly the strongest point of the unibody. IMO they should be fine for sliding over rocks. If you drop onto a rock or ledge, most likelly you are going to hit a skid, or the inside part of the slider, nearest the inside of the body first, so the leverage won't bend the rails up towards the body. All in all, RL and BB will be more solid for hardcore drops of the KJ weight onto them, but most likely you won't need that. They should all do well with their intended job. |

No, the Rusty's DOES attached to the pinch weld also, you just need to drill the holes yourself and they do not provide you with a template the way RL does (but you don't really need it). The reason the RL is better is because it has 3 support arms and not 2. I came down on my Rusty's HARD on the right side behind the wheel last October at Tellico and moved the entire pinch-weld about an inch up.... Now the reality of the situation is that whether I had these or the RL probably would not have mattered as hard as I came down, but as said either is a serious improvement over what I would have done to the rocker panel if I had NOT had rails on it.... Just my $0.02 Your mileage may vary... |

See the slight bend in my outer tube on my RL super skinks? That was caused by slipping off a rock and slamming the full weight(5500lbs) of my KJ onto a rock, about a 12" or so drop.It just slightly dented and bent the outer tube,Marty(RL) was riding shotgun and said "stop I think you just broke the rail", nope just very slight damage, didn't even do anything to my pinchweld at all.It only hit on the outer tube and not the actual rail itself, then again I have never hit anything besides the outer tubes.I've seen KJ's with RL Skinks come down on rocks and break them, well worth every penny and the wait. |

I'd give my Super Nerfs two thumbs up for strength.... But the install was a PITA... not obvious or easy! ...but I'd have to admit; the install would have been made a lot easier with a welder. |

So you balanced the entire Jeep on that one spot to get the entire 5500lbs of Jeep on it? haha, jk. I would say with the impact it was well over 10,000 lbs of force on that rail. |
