Post subject:  Frankenlift on order

I just ordered the Frankenlift for my '02 KJ. I plan to install it myself. Can anyone provide me with a list of tools needed for the install. Thanks for your help.

Excellent choice!

I don't remember needing anything too specialized. A good assortment of wrenches (especially a torque wrench), sockets, and a pry bar and you should be set. I do like to have a small sledge on hand to "persuade" those stubborn bolts. Also nice to have would be a handheld light and some wire for tying loose or hanging parts up and out of your way.

Good luck with the install. If you run into questions along the way feel free to ask!

I wasn't aware the "FrankenLift" was available as a kit? Or am I misunderstanding something? Can you or anyone tell me where I can view spec's on this lift and where it is sold. Thanks.

Quinn at www.boulderbars.com can tell you everything you need to know. It isn't listed on their site so just give him a call (the phone # is on the site though). The beautiful thing about buying from Quinn is that he puts the front strut assemblies together for you...no spring compressor required!

in case you don't have everything you need for the installation Autozone "rents" tools out. we needed a torque wrench when we intalled our disco's and the way it works is that you pay for the tool, in my case it was about $100 and you get it for around 3 months then you return it when your done (clean) and you get a complete refund. they seem to have the big things, but not little things like specific sockets or drill/tap sets.

So, what kind of $$$ does the frankenlift run?

That's another good question for Quinn. I already had the Skyjacker rear coils and shocks so I only bought the front strut assemblies from him. I'm not sure what the whole kit goes for.
