Lots of haters out there. Many probably don't have ESP.

Everything about it,I don't need/want a computer cutting power and applying the brakes when I don't need or want it to.In most ways ESP can be down right scary and could lead to more accidents and deaths.I learned how to drive, all those that like ESP aparently haven't and need a computer to aid them.

Have it and hate it too. I would rather control the vehicle myself, than being suprised by the ECU doing it as and when it "feels" it needs to.

I've never driven a vehicle with ESP so not sure. My new car i ordered for work is supposed to have it so we will see. Take a look at this video.

I have it. Would love to be able to kill the power reduction feature. That is the only feature I don't like. The rest of it (traction control and stability) works as intended and does not get in the way.

One thing i don't like about traction control is on my dad's truck when it is really icy the traction control won't let him go forward when starting from a complete stop because the brakes come on when he hits the gas. He has to engage 4x4 to get going. So it doesn't help much in that situation. But when doing highway driving on slippery roads he says it helps.

I both like it and hate it. I like it as really it has proven to make the Jeep very easy for my wife to drive in snow. She wouldn't before the Liberty. I hate it when off roading and there have been times on the road I have flat turned it off. I do like the traction control.........................at times...............I don't know, I really like the fact that my Wrangler doesn't have any of that crap. I guess it goes to show, that if you really know how to drive, its just a bunch of crap, but if you don't then it can help you out.

its because i know how to drive that i love it... if you know how to drive none of the systems will intervene so its like not having it at all. im a total grandma driver so in the snow my max speed is like 30mph maybe 35 and i begin to stop for red lights about a mile away from the intersection. in everyday traffic i give the person in front of me their 3-5 second gap so there are not many times i have to slam on brakes or perform evasive manuevers and when i have the systems responded quickly and werent intrusive at all; i was still able to steer where i needed to go and apply and release the brakes as needed. the only time any of the systems really activate for me is when off roading and for everything ive done they have helped me...

all of these systems on the liberty have relatively high thresholds for intervention when stock so you dont notice them when you drive it like you have sense. i cant speak for lifted liberties, only mine :D. besides, no matter if we like it or not insurance companies and the IIHS and NHTSA LOVE IT and have more pull than we do. so much pull that it will soon be mandatory on cars sold in the US... i think in 2011 but manufactures are starting now.

hahah my kj has no esp and no anti lock it is old school love it!! :P Never driven one with esp but on a side note with the wife in the snow I would like it to have both because she isn't the best snow driver I'm always driving in the snow when I'm home. But for myself keep it away. Just thought I would rub it in a little. The newer ones are easier to fit some larger tires with bumper trim the front that looks good, bumper trim on 02-04 looks silly to me.

My KJ has no ESP but I have driven cars with it. Personally, I like it. I've always been in a car that lets you turn it on or off, and I always left it on. I agree on ice, starting from a dead stop you may need to disable it, but other than that, its a great thing.
