Well this little gizmo is ment for the JK's with the 42RLE tranny, which is a zero modifcation and bolt on,but I can't see why it won't be the same for the KJ with the 42RLE,might also work for those with the 45RFE and 545RFE.You simply remove the rear tranny to t-case adapter and bolt this baby inbetween the stock(or aftermarket t-case like the AtlasII),adding another 2.72:1 reduction,so if using the stock t-case it'll drop you to 5.44:1 low range, and your not needing to modify your driveshafts or anything. In theory it will work on the KJ's also, just a thought.

I like it. Wonder how much. Looks like it should work if it works in a TJ or JK with the same tranny and tc.

It would give you basically a 3 speed t-case..............

1:1----RubiCrawler set to 1:1(hi) and t-case set to 2hi or 4hi
2.72:1----RubiCrawler set to low(2.72:1) and t-case set to 2hi or 4hi,RubiCrawler set to hi(1:1) and the t-case in 4hi
5.44:1----RubiCrawler set to low(2.72:1)and the t-case set to 4low(2.72:1) for a total of a 5.44:1 low range

It also will give you the option of 2wd(rear only) low of 2.72:1.

I believe your calculation in incorrect, If the stock low range xfer case is 2.72 and the Rubicrawler is another 2.72, the total reduction is multiplicative. Therefore the total would be 7.398 : 1. Not the additive value of 5.44 :1.
Not trying to start anything, and I may be wrong.
It sure sounds a good thing to think about getting :D

You may be wrong. The reason I say that is that the description calls it a 2.72 DOUBLER. I know very little about these things though.

For rock crawling or any low speed wheeling, the additional low range gives you much better control and torque. It takes significantly more throttle input to move the same distance, so yo have finer control.

A bit like adding a block and tackle instead of doing a straight pull or using a 4ft breaker bar instead of a 2 ft breaker bar.

The fact you can set it to 1:1 for road use makes it transparent for daily driving.
