Hey, Since next week is Thanksgiving and I'll be traveling through the mountains, which will probably be snow covered/still snowing. I was wondering, what's better for driving on the road in snow, part time or full time 4wd? I have tried searching but couldn't come up with anything. Thanks Brent |

depends if you have full time or part time. If you got part time you can drive in the snow just try to only engage when there is a good amount of snow on the ground, or at least keep a straight line as turning (especially at slow speed and tight turns) will bind the 4 wheel drive system. sounds like you got full so just pop it in don't think about it and your good. |

Well, ive heard that part time can actually be bad in the snow on the road, b/c it causes the front wheels to slip and could cause you to slide. I would say full time would be the best. Heck, if the road is covered in snow, see which one you like the best. But if you dont want to screw around with it, full time is the best. You DO NOT need to take it out of 4wd if the road becomes dry, full time is meant to use all the time. Thats why its so great. But remember, drive safe, 4wd does not really help you to turn or stop, ive been in many situations where being in 4wd did nothing at all. Going slow is the only good thing to do in the snow. |
