Yep and I have it where it is getting louder.....(the famous front end noise)

I replaced the Front drive shaft and that did not fix it.

But here's the interesting - shift from 2hi to 4hi4WD (this is an NP242 case) the whump whump goes away!

So is it the transfercase or that other famous spot where the intermediate shaft meets the inner CV knuckle on the pass side?

A little help here so I'll know what to dissamble first and yes I am aware CRD CV joint assemblies are different from gasser.

Thanks ahead for any help!
Roland

Check U joints and tires first.... It's the easiest....
Then check the intermediate shaft.... It's not too hard to change out...
Good luck
