Post subject: | Bedliner Prep |
So I am finally get around to applying bedliner to the KJ and I was wondering what is a good grit to use for preping the paint? I got some 60 grit bc I figured that would make it rough and that the bedliner will be able get a good grip, and do you think that the 60 grit will work on the fender flares also? and what about a wire wheel?? thanks |

I used the brown ScotchBrite pads(equal to 80 grit) for mine. You just need some good deep scratches for most bedliners to stick.I also know that virtually all bedliners need paint or a primer surface to adhere to.Good luck getting it to stick for any length of time to your sport flares.Use massive amounts of adhesion promotor on your flares then prime them, let dry, then sand those before applying the bedliner, this may extend the sticking time. |
