spacer lift,,,cheap not worth doing IMO, some will say they are OK but you get what you pay for.

one of my favorite Swahili sayings

Bure aghali
translates to
cheap is expensive

Do upgrades to your vehicle, don't put something on just to make it look the part, upgrade so you only do it once

If he wants to do a cheaper lift get a Daystar its cheaper and will work great, not as good as a full springs lift but will be better then what he is looking at.

go daystar 2.5", you can get it for $155

That lift will destroy his front suspension.

Either go with the daystar lift like tommudd said or get the franken lift.

Even Rusty's 2.5" coil lift is better than an OTT spacer. I had to spend about $2000 to fix everything that the OTT damaged. As Tom said, "Cheap is expensive!"

If your friend goes with the OTT - make sure he extends the front bumpstops - without those - it takes 1 cycle of the front suspension to kill the struts

and he will need to do something about the ball joint hitting the spring. New set of arms is around $300+.

well it does seem very true that his cheap way out is getting to be exspensive

Sounds like you've figured it out Zack. Cheap in the short term will always cost you in the long run. If you really want a good lift, save your money and get a Frankenlift II Premium and Al's arms. Going any higher will be really expensive, and only a couple people have done it. The FLIIP is well tested and you won't believe you are riding in the Jeep you just climbed into.
