truthfully I would save my money and buy something that will last and hold up if you take it off road.
Those are for the mall crawlers to look like they are on a safari....at the mall

plus wait around and look for a used bumper, mine was used and paid all of 250 for it with some other junk thrown in, that I sold off!

Not to mention that $485 will pay for more than half of an ARB bullbar. I mean...come ON!

X2 here with Tom. I paid $350 for mine used had to drive 2 and a half hours to pick it up. But they do come on the market used and are easy to get re-powder coated if you want.

Those Brush/Grille guards are weak and have NOT structural integrity. You will regret getting one. After all the ARB is designed to kill kangaroos on impact. No brush guard can say that.

The big thing about that brush guard is that to install it you will have to remove your front tow points

Yeah ,OK ,right
remove the tow points to install some thing for looks so when you go off road and get stuck you have no way to get unstuck
but at least you will look good doing it

So, Zzack, your sig just says "work in progress." What exactly have you done so far and what do you want to be able to accomplish with your KJ? If you just want something to jazz up the looks and don't plan to go off-road much, this thing should be fine. But like everyone has said, it's not for off-roading. If you're wanting to build a trail rig, then you'll rue the day you wasted money on this. But in any case, a bumper should probably come after skid plates, tow hooks, rock rails, a lift and bigger tires. If you don't have all that stuff yet, I'd say forget about a bumper for now. The stock plastic bumper and tow hooks are all you really need out front.

I know you said the ARB is too pricey, but if you can save up for it, it's worth every penny. Besides getting a good strong bumper, you get hi-lift jack points and a place to mount extra lights and a winch.

well i was trying to think long term for this car it was my moms brand new in 03 and is still in awesome condition, im not doing any offroading and dont plan on having it be a trail rig yet. What i have so far is baisically all stuff for looks, seat covers, leds, etc.. soon i will be getting a jet chip, magnaflow, 2.5 lift, new tires(before the snow flies) most likely 30's and i was thinking this. Then once im out of highschool and into college get another jeep for everyday use and put skids and the ARB on and make it a true trail rig in college or after. so those are just some of my thoughts im young so i really appreciate you guys trying to help me along my way with my KJ :D

hey man, Im in the same boat as you. I'm 17 and got my dads 03 and took over payments, once i got it payed off, I started modding and haven't stopped. I love wheeling and if you start this whole modding thing, you won't stop. I'm running low on mods now, and my long term goals (college) sound more like SFA and an engine swap.

All my mods are self payed for and self installed. You can do this if you really want to. All it takes is bargain hunting, and researching your mods before buying. These is a great place to do it.

And remember if you like your jeep, thats all that matters.

You know what you can take this advice a couple of different ways but here goes.
ARB bumpers/ Renegade light bars and other things are not for sale everyday used, you have to search, wait, ask around, and not be in a big hurry to do it all today. Sit back and relax and things will come your way. I waited over two years for a great deal on a set of Moabs

And to add to that your really do not want to buy a used Renny lightbar, there are many little pieces that are pricey, like nutzerts and wiring harness's,that probally will not come with it and you need to buy new anyway which will jump the price over what a new Renny light bar would have cost.I bought my Renny light bar from a dealership in Tacoma WA for $350,brand new.

Again, although not quite $350, Wyckoff has some good deals:

I wouldn't worry about the brush guard. They are a waste and in Detroit about all the protection those brush guards offer you is from shopping carts.

Get your lift and tires.

If you don't have money than save up. There is no hurry.
