Post subject:  lift for 2007 liberty?
Hello to all this is my first jeep with abs and esb. it is a 2007 liberty sport 4x4. my question is I would like to put a 2" or 2.5" lift and keep my stock rims and tires for now , why waste the tread on these . I feel I should use them first. Is there a problem with keeping these rims and tires for now? then what will I need to start this project, my neighbor told me to get the kit for my 2007 and they would help me.Ido not know where to start please help?????

TONS of posts on lifts on here in the 4X4 section, first what type of 4 wheeling do you want to do?
Basically you have I think 3 choices of lifts
1.) Daystar which you use the stock springs etc 2/250 bucks
2.) OME coils and Rancho shocks 650 or so
3.) Full Frankenlift set yo back 900/1000 when all said and done

there are others but .....

OME is the best! good price and its the best ride and its a full suspension replacement...no spacers

Thanks but will I need to buy shocks for the rear and will I need to buy arms so I wont ruin the ball joint and so there will be no rubbing on the springs or something like that>

yes sorry for not explaining farther
If you go with the Frankenlift everything is there together, this uses OME springs and either OME Shocks or Rancho Shocks

If you go with just buying the OME springs you will need (2) OME927 springs for the front and (2) OME 948 springs for the rear, for shocks if using the Ranchos you will need (2) RSX 17505 for the front, and (2) RSX 17004 for the rear
You do not need the new Upper control arms right away , a good alignment shop can get it into specs and you will not have any hitting on the springs.
I ran the OME springs Rancho shocks for 70,000 plus miles with the stock upper arms with no problems, finall put the Als 4.5 arms on due to getting a good deal on a set. Also as far as heighth I am very close to the Frankenlift with my setup of springs, a 2 ring clevis and a top plate ( a flat 1/4 inch think plate)

OKAY IF I GO THE CHEAP ROUTE WITH DYSTAR, WILL I NEED SHOCK AND ARMS ON 2.5 LIFT? WILL THERE BE ANY HARM TO THE JEEP TO DIVE LIKE THIS. I DON'T WONT ANY COSTLY REPAIRS RIGHT NOW DUE TO FAMILY REUNION IN THE BAHAMAS AT CHISTMAS. OUR SHOULD I SAVE UP AND GO THE 650 ROUTE WITH OME SPRINGS AND SHOCKS. WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND? The Daystar is a good cheaper lift, check out AllJs for it (boulderbars.com) you will need a set of rear shocks due to the stock ones being too short. The OTT style of lifts (which means over the top spacer ) will cause problems. Daystar has been run by a lot of people on here with no problems. For an occasional trail I would say that would be your cheapest and best route.
I am a huge fan of OME springs but don't think you really need to go that much right now. I will PM you my cell and email address

just looked it up and AllJs has the Daystar for 155 and rear shocks from the is 65 each. Call and talk to Heather if you are interested in going that route

For not much more you can get an OME which is a much better lift.

Is this the full spring kit from Rustys? haven't looked at their junk prices for a while. If so Rustys are same as stock spring rate not really upgrading, rear shocks are junk and have been for 6 years, they are too cheap to give you a better set though.
Save up and do it one time the right way if not enough money for OME got with a Daystar and then new shocks and front/rear bumpstops , of course then you are about the same as a full OME/rancho lift so.... :?

here we go again :lol:
First how many miles are on your KJ? if over 30,000 or so then I would go for a full spring lift since your stock ones are already going down hill along with the front and rear shocks. If under that then sure a Daystar will do great and hold up a long time. What you want to remember is the Daystar is preloading the spring which will cause it to sag sooner.
Now with the Rustys full spring lift the spring rate is the same as stock, you are lifting it but not upgrading the ride or the way it handles, plus rear shocks are JUNK!
Everyone should be UPGRADING the suspension system but its all up to you and what you want. It has been fun to see how many have started out with a Rustys or Daystar and ended up with OMEs
