Post subject:  Sway Bar Bushing Replacement

I heard noise when my suspension compressed/expanded when i went over bumps, (especially speed bumps, even at low [5mph] speed), so i took it to the dealer, they found that my sway bar bushings were dry and full of sand. They lubed the sway bar bushings and sent me on my way.
It sounded great until the next morning (cold michigan morning if that makes a difference). Then it was back to the same. Now they are going to replace my bushings, anyone else had this happen?

Happens to everybody eventually. My guess is they didn't do a great job of lubing the bushings. Usually that'll last you at least 6 months or so.

It's a KJ thing. Mine did it when it was brand new. If you really want it to squeak, replace the bushings with Daystar polys. ;)

I seen where daystar was selling a small grease gun with a special grease to lubicate their bushing.it ran $30.95 at four wheel parts wholesale.

Sounds like what might be goin on with my kj just started tonight I drove around a little, and i go over a small and it almost sounds, and kinda feels like sumthing is hitting the ground, but i get out at a well lit gas station looked around everything is fine, This is the first time this year its startin to get real cold, so it may be related to that but i guess i wont know intill morning when i have enough light to see.

This subject comes up every year when it starts getting colder. The KJ in general will start making some weird sounds when it's cold.

Lubing the bushings does help, but this is very normal.

I actually like it. It makes people in parking lots stare when I go over speed bumps. Of course, I like that tire rubbing noise too, so I could just be crazy. :D
