Post subject:  IFS ? something to think about

maybe this has been thought of before, or even asked on here, but i couldnt foind it through the search.

yea so as i was hunting today, i was thinking that some of my friends have F150's that have the IFS. and also some have Yotas and Rangers that have the IFS. i noticed that some companies like FABTECH and others make lifts for these trucks and have components that make them lift higher then our KJ's. like this on i found http://www.ntwonline.com/04-08_FORD_F15 ... 23C185.cfm . i think that some of the parts can be duplicated to make it work on our KJ's. maybe it can, maybe it cant, i dont know, but i would like to find the answer to this.

just food for thought

if you want a 6" lift just buy the 6" lift from Jeepin By Al, ya it costs an extra $1000 but its made for the KJ, although you would be better of just taking all that money and put it towards a SFA

Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of putting a lift one. You just loose the ground clearance you gained from the lift.

yes, but you are able to run bigger tires= more clearance.

But doing a cradle drop in a KJ is a nightmare since it also lowers the engine,If you have HD cooling you will have to ditch the mechanical fan. You'd also have to drop the t-case/tranny mount the same or mess up your driveline angles, and there goes any ground clearance gained.

sorry off topic for a minute,

hey GODDARD, i may be able to. e-mail me your driving credentials as far as driving school, such as BOB BONDURANT, or SKIP BARBER, or any with satisfaction saying that you can control a high speed exotic car or truck and historic or antique. not being an Ahole, just asking what they asked me when i got the job.
