has anyone ever seen a KJ with the gas door removed? i was walking into class today and i saw a JK in the parking lot, and i noticed they have no gas door, just a plastic trim piece around the lip. could any of you JK owners measure the diameter of the trim peice? just a thought i guess. maybe some of you skilled photoshoppers can work your magic. |

Been discussed before, JK thing doesn't work, to small. Search for Jeep Liberator. That had what you are thinking about. But you'll have to get it custom made. ![]() |

Yep...a shame they could build that for SEMA and not for us.. ![]() They managed to fit a 4" lift AND a CRD engine? Now if I could only find out how.... ![]() |

They just used a cradle drop.. well, something like that. They also put a stronger diff in there. |

i have also thought of deleting my gas door, but i wonder how the water would react to that change. i have a locking gas cap, and i think that it would rust, i think is what it is called, and would not be able to be opened. And I know for a fact that someone on here with decals 41MB-06KJ, don't know your name on here dude, sorry, has done it... and it looks freakin' awesome!! |

Actually, IIRC (and I know i have pics of it somewhere) it has a spacer between the factory cradle and subframe. wouldn't really call it Much of a cradle drop but I do recall seeing it in Moab during EJS. |

Is it just me, or do all the KJs with no gas door look like somebody just stole their gas door, and not "custom"? |

I don't know. Since the lip around where the gas door shuts doesn't taper off immediately like the wranglers, I too think it looks like the door was ripped off and not custom. If you could fab a ring to cover that lip up and would sit flush with outside of the rear panel, then it would nice and custom. |

ThunderbirdJunkie thinks the Challenger's sweet gas cap would look at home on there! |
